Connectivity was a major strength of the MW800, featuring integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular modem options to ensure officers could maintain real-time access to critical information, regardless of location. Its hardened casing, MIL-STD-810 compliance, and resistance to shock, vibration, and temperature extremes made it ideal for mobile use in patrol cars and emergency vehicles.

Over its lifecycle, the MW800 became a widely adopted solution among police departments, utility companies, and emergency response agencies across North America and beyond. Motorola continuously refined the product with firmware updates and optional accessories like backlit keyboards, vehicle docks, and additional I/O ports for peripheral devices such as license plate readers and mobile printers. However, as technology evolved and demand grew for faster processors, enhanced display resolutions, and more advanced wireless options, the MW800 reached its hardware limits.
